Events and Marketing Executive

We need an events and marketing expert to join our marketing team during very exciting times here at Spotlight.

We are continually looking to help our current members through ongoing career development opportunities and industry advice, this role is about providing the best support for members through effective communications and events programmes.

You’ll work with the rest of the marketing team to deliver our events calendar and plan marketing campaigns across all channels, as well as managing Spotlight’s internal communications.

 Key Responsibilities:

General Marketing and Communications

  • To support the planning and delivery of marketing initiatives, including developing and writing external communications campaigns as needed
  • To support the planning, delivery and co-ordination of marketing events to achieve objectives set out in the events strategy
  • Copywriting for email, print collateral and website copy, as needed
  • Alongside the rest of the marketing team, ensure the website presents Spotlight as the home of casting, and copy is accurate and in line with Spotlight’s tone of voice
  • To champion Spotlight’s tone of voice and brand guidelines
  • To constantly search for opportunities to improve Spotlight’s brand perception within the industry

Events

  • To support the development and delivery of Spotlight’s events strategy to drive brand awareness and strengthen Spotlight’s position in the industry, including:
    • Planning and execution of the annual events calendar, in conjunction with the marketing manager and membership teams
    • Agreeing objectives for each event by which to measure success
    • Striking the right balance between generating new customers and strengthening relationships with current customers, and ensuring the range of events are accessible to all customers of Spotlight
    • Establish reporting processes to communicate the effectiveness of the events strategy to drive membership retention and acquisition
    • Review new technologies and tools to improve our events, including livestream and ticketing solutions

Internal Communications

  • To champion internal communications at Spotlight by:
  • Taking the lead on communicating key marketing messages to the rest of the business, including copywriting
  • Prompting staff to communicate key messages internally using the appropriate channels
  • Ensuring consistent and appropriate use of internal communication channels

Partnerships

  • Identify and develop new partnerships that align with Spotlight’s goals and brand strategy
  • To work with the marketing and membership teams to incorporate partnerships into our content, events and communications strategies
  • To look for ways that partnerships can help to improve member acquisition and grow in key target markets

What we need from you:

  • 5+ years of marketing experience
  • Experience delivering events to a high standard
  • Ability to network and build strong professional relationships
  • Familiarity with or passion for the entertainment industry would be a distinct advantage
